Office 2016 For Mac End Of Life
It seems like the life cycle for software keeps getting shorter and shorter. Office 2016 perpetual licenses will no longer be sold after October 31st, 2018. My vendor contacts let me know that Office 2019 perpetual licenses can be purchased starting October 2nd. It’s also worth noting that Office 2019 is ONLY supported on Windows 10. On January 22, 2015, the Microsoft Office blog announced that the next version of the suite for Windows desktop, Office 2016, was in development. On May 4, 2015, a public preview of Microsoft Office 2016 was released. Office 2016 was released for Mac OS X on July 9, 2015 and for Windows on September 22, 2015. I’ve been using Outlook 2013 since it came out and I’m still quite happy with it. I know that since then Outlook 2016 has come out and Outlook 2019 is the latest version that is available. Then there is also Microsoft 365 which apparently is always the latest version of Office. With so many newer versions of Outlook, is Microsoft still committed to support my Outlook 2013 version or is it. Support for Office 2016 for Mac will end on October 13, 2020. Rest assured that all your Office 2016 apps will continue to function—they won't disappear from your Mac, nor will you lose any data. But here's what the end of support means for you: You'll no longer receive Office 2016 for Mac software updates from Microsoft Update.
